Cricket With Elijah

Today Elijah from Otago cricket came and taught us some skills we started by playing a fu games of snowball tag, then passing and catching the tennis ball with one hand and two hands, overarm and under arm.
We also had a game on who can throw the ball without it bouncing befor the other caught it, Harlin and Henry were the winners closely followed by Keeley and Leah!!
We played a modified cricket game with 4 team members batting and and the rest out tagging but could not tag them until they have passed the ball to 7 people before tagging a person but there runners had to run to the end of the court and back without getting tug!!!!
Next up was non stop cricket all you do is keep on batting and the bowler just creeps on bowling even if know one is there to hit it!
We all had a blast!!!!

Thank you Otago cricket!!!!!!!

Harlins Story On Pet Day

Harlin 31.10.17

I watch as I pass all of the lambs, goats and dog eyeing up which one I’m going to sit beside the a kid take me over to a empty spot and ties me up I was all alone.

A big furry dog comes over I eye him up and see if he’s friendly he was but wasn’t very fun so of to the next place we went

Next we were beside a big scary dog called Rocky and he looked nice.

I take one look to the right and I smell a nice lamb suddenly the kid shoves some food in my mouth It tastes disgusting.

I hear people saying that I’m so small and cute. I think what would that lamb taste like. I feel the cold breeze blowing in my face. I see the people stare at me like I stare at the lamb.

I see a person saying fight I bark at him and rocky takes it the wrong way and barks at me I back off and stare at the lamb again.

      30/10/17
As I walk down the hill I see my owner standing there waiting for me. When he talks my lead and walks me down past all the dogs. We stop near some lambs and my owner ties me up to a fence next to some lambs. I look around and I see all this dogs I start crying because I don’t to get to see much dogs. I feel really excited because I want go and meet all the dogs and play with them. My owner sets down beside me and gives me a treat and a bowl of water. After a wee bit two people approach me and ask my owner some questions about me. After that my owner takes me for a walk down to some type of course.

Mimi's Pet Day

The day starts off as usual, I watch from my bed as the young humans rush around the house getting ready to leave. But then Lucy begins taking interesting things out of the cupboard. Dog treats, dog costumes, a water bowl and my leash! I jump out of bed, tail wagging furiously, excited at the offer of going for a walk. But Lucy sets the leash on the ground and goes off to eat breakfast. I whine in protest and run around the house, trying to figure out what’s going on. Half an hour later, the humans leave to school, my pile of stuff still sitting next to the door.

I wake up to the sound of a key turning in the door. A thief! I must protect my house.
I jump up and bark as loud as I can, trying to look as scary as possible. “Shut up Mimi!” The intruder yells. Oh, it’s just my owner again. I rush to greet them properly but they grab my stuff and lead me to the car. Yes! We’re going on a trip! I wonder where to?

Soon the car slows down, and I look out the window to see our destination. Oh we’re at the school again. I came here two years ago. Lucy is there to greet me. She opens the door, and I nearly fall out. She clips on my leash, and we run down the driveway. I am greeted by many other dogs, no matter how much I try to avoid them. I’m going to have to put up with them for the whole day. Lucy ties me to the fence between a crazy labrador and a huge beast of a dog that’s about five times my size, he seems friendly though. We sit for ages in the hot sun, Lucy tries to leave multiple times but I let her know she’s not allowed to. Now i’m sitting on her, just to make sure she doesn’t try it again. She’s not leaving me alone with all these strangers. Finally some adult humans come and talk to Lucy, and she unties me and leads me towards a set of random obstacles. “Go!” says the lady and we set off at a run. I know what to do. We make it over the first jump, but the second is pretty big. I could make it, but I can’t be bothered, so I go under. To make up for it I complete the other obstacles perfectly with a time of 23 seconds.
After the obstacle course all the humans start walking their dogs around. Lucy takes me to a big line and my nose fills with the tantalizing smell of hot sausages. If only I was bigger so I could jump up and steal one. Lucy gets one, and kindly rips off a small piece and gives it to me. I meet lots of other dogs, most of which I don’t like. They all try to make friends with me but I let them know I hate them all. Lucy calls me a grump.  Yes I am a grump, and I’m proud of it. However I do meet this big dog called Base, who I be nice to, mainly because he’s so big he could scare all the other psycho dogs away. But he doesn’t, he’s to friendly. Oh well.

Pet Day 2017

Pet Day Writing

The sack was opened and in I went, I was thrown in the back seat of the car, in a closed in brown space with nothing to do, I felt the breath of the children in front of me lean over to see if I were still there, “Maa Maa” I yelled that's lamb for go away. Finally the torture was over I was out of the sack with my first glimpse of my dreams, no seriously I felt like I was in my dreams. I was heaved over to a silver gate, hooked on and left alone well almost alone, the only friend I had was a brown and cream fluffy looking version of me. Just as I poked my head into the grass there was a howl and a scream of kids happily jumping down a hill, I guess my day has only begun. After not many moments of being left alone I had visitors many of them, big and small patting me giving me cuddle and much more. When all the kids had left me I had no friends I wish I could be in there with them. I really want to learn how to count to ten and spell my name. It seemed like ages before I had friends again, but when they were allowed to go they weren't even running for me they were running for their own versions of me. I looked around I felt miserable I was no longer the centre of attention.
