Yesterday with our buddies we made the Remembrance Crosses. They have the names of the fallen soldiers in the Warepa Community. The crosses are all named and we invite all the community to visit the school to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers.
Today for maths we made a grid and worked out some problems to see how big our remembrance field would be. Then we went outside and measured out the grid ready for the students to place their crosses.
The Senior Class measured the grid for the crosses, there are 5 rows of 6 crosses, each cross is 65 centimetres apart. |
We held a remembrance ceremony to place the crosses and each of the buddies placed the crosses to honour the soldiers. Some of crosses are a nurse, heroes and the unknown soldier.
All our students were involved making the remembrance crosses with their school buddies. |
As the crosses were put in the ground each buddy said, " We remember........" |
