Holmdene Visit

Holmdene Visit 24th May
Most of the Senior and Middle Class visited Holmdene for the third week in a row. The residents smile at us when we get there and some even remember us from the week before and are excited to see us.
Some of us spend time with the elderly in the lounges and others go with Tennielle to talk with people who are in their rooms.
They often say, “that’s amazing, we didn’t do that when we were at school.”
They think we do great work at Warepa School and love listening to us read our work to them.

When we are there the time seems to go so fast.
They were asking us some questions and they were very interested in our work. On the first week I told Mrs A that “I felt that I won first prize.” Now it makes me feel happy that the elderly look forward to us coming and are happy and interested in what we are sharing, I think we make their day.

We were reading our publish writing books to the elderly and they were all so very interested in how neat we drew and coloured. We have been to Holmdene three times now and we have been making new friends every time. It makes me feel very happy. We all enjoyed doing this because we got to spend time to learn about the elderly and then we told them a bit about us. Most of their comments were like,”that’s awesome” and  “you have a twin?”
