Camp Borland Lodge

Last week we went away for our annual a Senior camp, this year we went to Borland Lodge, which is down the bottom of Fiordland between Lake Monowai and Lake Manapouri. At Borland, we spent four awesome days filled with fun and adventures, the things we did included kayaking, abseiling, climbing, archery, air rifle shooting, traverse, nature walks, low ropes, horizontal bungy, bivvy building, camp cooking and teamwork games.

Everybody had an awesome camp, one of the things the instructors were really pleased about was that 100% of our class had a go at everything! They said that this didn't happen very often, Andy and Curtis, the instructors, were really cool, we had a fun three days hanging out with them.

Though some people were a bit nervous during the activities, the instructors, parents, teachers, and our classmates were really encouraging, and we were off doing whatever it was we were doing before we even realised.

One of my (Holly's) favourite activities was climbing, everybody was really supportive, and everybody was pretty fast on the easiest wall, the three fastest speed runs (up and down) on the easiest wall were:

First:       James, 19 seconds.

Second:  Callum, 21 seconds

Third:     Holly, 29 seconds.

We could also do the climbs blindfolded or just do them as climbs without being timed.

Everybody had a great camp and there are a lot of fun stories to tell about it.
