Soccer Skills

Yesterday Rory, the Sports Activator, came to school to do some soccer / football skills with us. We started off doing some dribbling practice and then moved onto some different ball skills.

We stood in a square in groups of five, four on the outside and one in the middle, we would kick the ball from the middle to the side , back into the middle and out on to the next corner. After going round the square twice, somebody else would take a go in the ,middle, and the middle person would go out onto the side.

After kicking, we tried juggling, seeing how many times we could juggle the ball in our groups without it touching the ground, our group’s high-score was 6.

We practiced shooting at the goals, with and without a goalie, and then finished up with a fun, free for all, chaotic game of soccer.

Yesterday the 18th of March Rory the Sports Activator came to Warepa School.
He taught us some football skills. One of the skills we did was to try to keep the ball away from the person in the middle of the square.another warm up game was to try and kick other people's ball away, but also try to protect your own ball.
Rory told us to get into two lines and we had to kick the ball to either him or Mrs A. We had Mrs A and she was suppose to kick it back and we would then score a goal. Mrs A could not kick the ball back far enough she encouraged us to do a rotation. i guess Mrs A's new knees don't work too well yet. After that we played a game of football with our new soccer goals my team won.
